Organizing Nigeria Day was an incredible experience that connected our study of Purple Hibiscus with the vibrant culture of Nigeria. In collaboration with both the Language and Literature (Lang Lit) and CAS departments, we transformed the day into an immersive celebration. Each class was assigned a significant location from the book, and the event allowed us to explore and present those places through creative expression.

The day was filled with lively performances—traditional Nigerian dances and music that brought energy and authenticity to the event. We also created infographics that highlighted key cultural and historical aspects of Nigeria, enriching our understanding of the setting in Purple Hibiscus.

One of the highlights was the fashion show, where students showcased traditional Nigerian attire with flair, adding a visual and cultural richness to the event. The mouthwatering Nigerian food provided everyone with a taste of the country's cuisine, making the experience even more authentic and engaging.

Skits were performed to capture key scenes from Purple Hibiscus, blending theatrical performance with literary analysis. Overall, Nigeria Day was a vibrant and educational experience, fostering a deeper connection to the novel while bringing our community together in celebration of Nigerian culture.
