Not Just Lemonade

Cooking has always been a way for me to express my love and care for others. I’ve come to understand that food is much more than just nourishment; it’s a way to bring people together, share stories, and create meaningful memories. The idea of food as a community experience has always resonated with me, and it’s a value I hold close.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, this belief took on a new form. With schools moving online, children of construction workers near my home faced a huge challenge—they lacked access to the digital tools necessary for their education. My brother and I saw an opportunity to help. We started a small fundraising initiative and managed to raise INR 25,000. This money was used to purchase tablets, allowing these children to continue their education despite the challenging circumstances.
This experience was not just about raising funds; it was about recognizing the power of community and stepping in when others need support. It showed me how small actions, when driven by empathy and a sense of responsibility, can have a big impact. Just like sharing food brings people together, this initiative brought hope and opportunity to those children, reinforcing my belief in the power of community-driven efforts.
