Public Speaking

DSC_8165.JPG

Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of compering significant school events such as the Round Square Assembly, Investiture Ceremony, and Nigeria Day. Each of these opportunities allowed me to refine my public speaking skills, manage large audiences, and ensure the events ran smoothly. Standing in front of my peers and teachers was initially nerve-wracking, but with each event, I gained confidence and composure.

A particularly transformative experience came during my election campaign, where I delivered three speeches to the entire school. Speaking candidly about my ideas, goals, and vision for the future was daunting, but it allowed me to connect with the school community on a deeper level. The experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to articulate my thoughts clearly and persuasively.

Through these opportunities, I gradually overcame my fear of public speaking. What began as a source of anxiety has become something I truly enjoy. Reflecting on these experiences, I am proud of how far I’ve come in terms of confidence and leadership. Not only did they enable me to share my ideas with the school, but they also taught me the power of effective communication in creating an impact.
